Book 3, Romance and cigars

Newt shook his head, yawning slightly.
Charlie began to bite at his nails.
"Unnesccessary! You don't need to bleeding kill him! I'd probably do the same as him! But who...... Did that?"
Newt wondered, irritated and angered, yet in deep thought.
Charlie daren't speak.
Then Newt blinked, looking at Nikki.
"What are you, a vampire?!!"
He slid away slightly, quickly whiping the blood from his forehead.
Charlie did the same.
"I just don't understand why he assumed us first. I thought we were forever trusted."
Charlie finally said in a squeak.
Newt shook his head.
"He's flipping insane, that's what."
He mumbled, sounding a lot like Ron.

Nikki looked down sadly, "A rare type, yes. Though I protest to drink blood, though it will make me a bit weak. Though I'll manage." She squinted her eyes shut, remembering how she had faught the vampire and had accidentally drank a bit of his blood in the process, causing her to be the type of vampire he was and still is.
"Once again, I'm sorry. I plan to defeat the vampire that had made me this way, which would lead me to not be a vampire anymore, though he has left . . . This world." She kept looking down.
She looked at Newt then after she heard how he sounded like Ron.

Newt sighed, thinking.
"Well I wouldn't mind helping to fight of this 'vampire'."
He looked over at Charlie.
"Uh...Well....I'm more for inventing......What if she wants to do this alone?"
Charlie asked.
"It would be risk-taking anyway."
newt rolled his eyes.
"Well I'm up for taking risks. But I don't mind if you want to do it alone."
Newt said, gazing into her eyes for a few seconds.
"It was said that there was at least ONE vampire in our family........But the blood somehow died out....Strange."
He shook his head, Charlie was shivering.
"All this talk of vampires is making me worried for my own safety. I thought they were only a myth. But........ What else could be real? Warewolves? Ghosts? Pinch me I must be dreaming!"
Charlie walked out to get his bedroom ready so it was just Nikki and Newt.
Newt was the first to speak.
"I wonder what Zeke'll be like at school tomorow..... Oh help! He'll be out to get me!"
Newt bit at his bottom lip, thinking about all types of torture Zeke could master.

Nikki sighed sadly, "I don't even know wherehe ran to." She looked out, "For now, the problem only is that if I don't get any blood soon, I may die. " She shook her head and put her hand into a fist, "I'm not going to do it. I'd rather die."
She then looked at Newt after Charlie left, "Where's that bracelet that you had on?"

Newt shook his head.
"The bracelet..... I took it off.. It's in my bedroom back home."
He admitted.
Newt then whiped some blood from his forehead.
"You can have some of mine."
He said, his palm reddened with the blood.
Newt held his palm out.
"I don't want you weak. Though if you go to the extremes you can take some fresh from my neck."
He joked, pushing some hair away to reveal where an atery would run.

Nikki sighed, "You'll have to wear it tomarrow. Rub it if Zeke lays a finger on you and he's good as gone."
She growled, Vampire teeth forming again on her teeth, she looked away and pushed the hand away from her, "No. Don't do that ever again. It's too late for a little bit. One taste of that blood and I'll be out of control."

Newt shook his head fast.
"No.... I don't want to kill him. Or make him disapear out of thin air... I wouldn't be able to live with the guilt."
He slowly said.
Newt shook his head.
"You need to. Or you will die. Though you could drink the blood of another mammal like a rabbit....."
He still held his hand out, the blood still liquid, almost dripping to the carpet.
"Even if you couldn't stop. I can stop you and protect myself. I may not want to use magic. But I guess I can't hide from it."

Nikki growled louder, "I . . Won't." She covered her nose.
"Stop! I don't want to. If I do you'll die." she shook her head, "It wouldn't do anything. She reached back and touched Newt's forehead, meaning to heal the wound.

Newt sighed as she sucessfully healed the wound, closing his hand so the blood squeezed out of his palm, drying.
"I only wanted to make sure you wouldn't die. I wouldn't care if you killed me."
He admitted.
"It would be saving a life but losing yours."
He smiled at the thought.
"I wanna die that way... Doing something good..... Or being a race car driver."

Nikki shook her head sadly, looking at Newt, "I wouldn't live with you gone anyway." She blinked once, "Remember the last time you died?" She sighed "Probably not."
she then smirked a bit, "I'm sure you will."

Newt shook his head.
"No....... Past lives... All hazy."
Newt shrugged, looking downwards, putting the blood-covered hand to his face.
He seemed to start to lick it.
He was not a vampire.
Newt wasn't at all repelled by the taste.
"Why do your sort like blood so much?"
He asked,blinking.

Nikki smirked a bit, "Why do most sort like drugs so much?" she joked, "It's a bit addicting. THough it is actually because our "sort" of blood is tainted, and I think they need other blood to keep our heart pumping." She shook her head, "I really don't know. Newt, I know you don't remember of the past, though I know you remember at least that I'm not just a vampire. I wasn't before."

Newt scratched at the back of his head.
"Because drugs have something in them that make you want more."
He smirked.
"Guess' that's sorta like blood for you guys."
Newt's eyes widened, a little snippet of the past passing into his mind.
"I was a vampire too! Wasn't I?!!!"
He almost shrieked, standing up quickly.

Nikki shuddered, "For a bit of time, yes."Her eyes turned black for a second, then back to the dark emerald.

Newt shivered.
"Eugh..... I'd rather take drugs any day! My best friend took drugs.... Until he moved away. I admit I took a bit of heroine..... It made me feel like....Dizzy."
He grinned.
"And it's all news to you."
He poked Nikki playfully.
Yet inside, Newt's heart beat faster and faster at the thought......
He was tense.

Nikki nodded, then paused. "Where's Charlie?"

Newt shrugged and got up.
"In his bedroom I think."
He walked out.
"Bear with me for just a sec."
Newt yelled to Nikki, his steps pounding up the stairs.
He finally got to Charlie's room, knocking on the wooden door with Einstein posters covering it.
"C...Come in."
Came a rather timid voice.
Newt slowly pushed the door open, jumping back in shock at the crossbow pointed at his chest.
"Easy........ Arming yourself up!"
Charlie pulled the crossbow by accident, the arrow pinging off.
Newt dodged in time for it to hit the opposite wall.
"Do you want a bye bye Newt?!"
Charlie sighed.
"I'm sorry.. But with a vampire in the house. I need to make extra special precuations."
Newt rolled his eyes.
"She won't drink our blood...... She said so.."
He smiled comfortingly.
"She's wondering where you are. Come on."
Charlie shook his head quickly, gripping onto the crossbow like it was a lifeline.
"I stay here."
He plainly said.
Newt sighed and walked off.

"He's scared of you now."
Newt slowly said, grinning.
"He thinks you might drink his blood.. Every last drop of it..."
He rolled his eyes.
Newt, arms folded, sat on the sofa next to Nikki.

Nikki had her legs crossed, her chin on her right hand, elbow on her knee. "I heard." She blinked once, "Should I talk to him?"

Newt shook his head.
"No amount of telling will change his mind."
He then bent close to Nikki, whispering in her ear.
"Especially when he's in an insane state like this."
Newt grinned like this was all a joke.
Newt ran his hands through his greasy hair.
"Ew... I'm going to borrow Charlie's shower."
Newt got up.
"Be back in a few."
He said, running off upstairs.

She got up and slowly walked up the stairs a bit behind Newt, brown gold and red waves swaying slightly with the dark green bow tied behind it. She looked around, then quietly walked up to Charlie's door and knocked gentally, her voice seemed quiet and unsure, ". . . May I come in?" She asked, knowing what was pointed at the door.

Newt went into the bathroom, taking a number of Charlie's shampoo bottles.
"He won't mind."
Newt mumbled, leaning over the sink.


"N....No."
Charlie replied in a small voice.
"A peice of string is attatched to the trigger of my crossbow. So when an unsuspecting victim walks in they will be dead with in seconds."
Charlie got up from his bed and crawled under it.

Nikki tilted her head downwards and a bit to the right, "Please?" She said in a quiet tone. Her eyes were filled with pain and saddness. She seemed to be a little girl now.

Charlie didn't speak for a while, but when he did, he sounded certain.
"No."
He said in a firm voice.
Charlie hid, thinking she could come crashing in at any moment.

Meanwhile.

"Wow.... I smell fresh.. Like a nerd!"
He shrugged.
"At least I have shiny, less greasy hair!"
he looked around for any deoderant.
"Mum's deo.....Dad's deo........ Charlie's...... Eww. It smells of dork."
He grinned and toom the dad's 'Lynx' He sprayed it over his clothes. Especially in armpits and chest.
Newt finally left the bathroom, seeing Nikki looking oddly sad.
Newt sighed, sidling up to her.
"Leave him be. He'll come out when he's ready."
Newt said in a hintingly loud voice.
Newt flipped his hair from his eyes, smirking in a comforting way, putting an arm around her shoulders.
"Leave him time to get used to the mythical world!"
Newt joked.

Nikki pouted a bit, sighing and looking over to Newt, putting her soft, warm hands gentally on Newt's arm, smirking a bit.

Newt grinned at the lovely heat coming off her hands.
"Thanks."
He mumbled slightly.
"Y'know. You can't force people to like you. They should only like you for who you are. Not what you are."
He said wisely in almost a whisper.
Newt withdrew his arm from her and slowly put a hand to his head, whilst running downstairs to the livingroom.
When he got to the livingroom.
He blinked, eyes widened slightly.
"Like.....Woah.."
He said slowly, hand held out in front of him, waving it about, mouth open slightly.
